1. Something in the sky, due east, 45 degrees above the horizon at around 6 AM yesterday. It's too bright to be anything but Venus.
2. Arthur, who has been grouped with the top readers in his Kindergarten class and already knows what N, E, S and W stand for on a weathervane, which came as a shock to me. (tip: The Magic School Bus rocks!)
3. Jamey who is now reading with the 2nd grade class because they can't keep up with him in his 1st grade class.
Both kids were eager to show us around at their school at last nights open house. Both were characterized by their teachers with words like: awesome, well-adjusted and polite, in addition to the academic accolades.

Ignoring the first comment, which I'm sure is a form of SPAM, I say, "Hooray for Jamey G. and Arthur!!".
I'm glad that Jamey G. is not being "held back" to conform to the (in)abilities of his age-peers. He will go far; he makes me proud.
I'm proud of Arthur for being able to learn and use the bits that come from what we adults dismiss as "just childrens' cartoons".
Great Grandma is right: her Grand (and Great Grand) Children can do no wrong!!
Way to go readers!
That is great and not completely unexpected news!
You boys will do well!
Great Job.
Wonderful news on the school front! Way to go Jamey and Arthur!
Yes, congratulations on such intelligent boys. They are very much like their parents.
Yes, the bright object in the eastern sky at 6:00 AM is Venus. I've been checking for it each clear morning and am delighted to know that somebody else spotted it. It's apparent size and shape now will be similar to the photos I took of it last May and June, when it was about 45 degrees above the setting Sun.
