Rainy Saturday

"Everything I wanted to do I can't do, so now I can do stuff."

"What?"

"That makes perfect sense."

Of course it makes perfect sense. Some of the best times we have shared have been when we were just doing "stuff". Enjoy your weekend.

Huh!????

[My condolences, James; as you can see, it must be a female "thing".]

Ang said it makes sense to her and she said "I didn't want to do my stuff today so I changed my mind and did stuff."
It made sense to her I guess.

Not to me really...that syntax results in a zombie process.

So there you go, proves my point. It is so obviously a female thing!

Makes perfect sense. It is not gender based at all. It's situational. If that happened to any male he would say the same thing.

The key to understanding this is being able to fill in the reasons underlying each of the phrases: The reason she wanted to do the first set of stuff was because it needed to be done. The reason she wanted to do the second set of stuff is because it is fun.

All of this is readily available to the listener through subtle inflection of tone, and also to the astute reader who is accustomed to interpreting the (intentionally?) ambiguous writing (or speaking) of a Zimmerman man.

I understood it fine but I related it more to your title. I figured since it was raining out she couldn't do her outdoor stuff and was then able to go and do her indoor stuff. Stuff is still stuff.

I guess you must be (primarily) referring to me as the "ambiguous" writer and/or speaker Zimmerman man.

I still insist all this "stuff" about t stuff is a "female thing".

However, in deference to my future Lemon Meringue Pie hopes, I now wish to remain forthwith quiet and anonymous.

As The Campbell's point out, there was a clue in the title.

Grumpy, I find your quick assumption of guilt in this matter profoundly enlightening.

You seemed surprised by my "... quick assumption of guilt". Well, when you have been found "guilty" as many times as I have, you quickly try to make an "Alford Plea", knowing that a full jury (of Zimmerwomen) would likely find me guilty anyway!

Right...what Heidi said. Totally I get it because what she wanted to do she couldn't so she could do her stuff. DUH!
