Microsoft vs. Malaria Deathmatch

OK, it's not Microsoft per se, but it is the money that Bill Gates made during his career at Microsoft that is helping, under his guidance, to eradicate Malaria.

I'm already in awe of the man for providing the software upon which I've based my career. Now this!

To me, this is the meaning of "American idol".

Thanks Bill.

What is also amazing is that he announced early on, when he was just becoming a billionaire -- before he became the "richest man" -- that he wanted to give it all away!

And now he is having the fun of doing just that. And it is fun to give -- it is indeed, more blessed to give than to receive!!

Yes, it is a good thing that he is helping out.

I'd like to point out that he actually didn't create any of the software you're talking about. His company, Microsoft, didn't create it either. SQL Server was purchased from Sybase, and the Microsoft Access database engine was created by Fox Software, which Microsoft purchased about 15 years ago.

A huge percentage of the Microsoft developers came from India, so even the in-house talent has been imported.

I wish he would throw some money at the Renton School district so I could have my full time hours back in the reading program.
